Installation
Installing your weld-on tool holder requires MIG or TIG welding equipment and aluminum welding experience. We recommend professional installation if you're not familiar with aluminum welding techniques, as proper penetration and heat control are critical for a secure, long-lasting mount.
Installation Steps
- Select the mounting location – Choose a flat surface on your trailer frame or truck bed rail where the holder won't interfere with cargo, tailgate operation, or other equipment. Position the holder where you can comfortably reach tools from the ground or truck bed.
- Prepare the surface – Clean the mounting area thoroughly with a wire brush or grinder, removing all paint, rust, oil, and debris. Aluminum welding requires completely clean surfaces on both the holder and mounting surface for proper fusion.
- Position and tack the holder – Place the aluminum holder in the desired location and verify clearance for tools when inserted. Use a level to confirm the holder sits plumb. Make small tack welds at opposite corners to hold position.
