Welcome to Brumleve Industries!
This 12 Volt DC Rocker Switch is part of our RDCC Kit, which together allow for electric tarp operation from inside the cab. Rocker switches are intended for a variety of applications, such as display monitors, surge protection and trailer tarp systems; this is a great choice when multiple switches are necessary, specifically when the switch needs to be visible in the dark
Power your electric side-to-side or front to back roll tarp system from inside the cab with our 12V DC Rocker Switch. This product does not include any additional components or wiring.
Operating electric tarp systems requires reliable control switches that can withstand the demands of daily trucking operations. Our 12V DC rocker switch provides dependable manual control for your tarp system, allowing you to deploy and retract tarps directly from your vehicle cab with confidence. Based on three decades of serving the transportation industry, we've found this switch configuration delivers the durability and performance drivers need for daily operation.
This rocker switch is engineered for heavy-duty use in commercial trucking applications. The switch operates on 12-volt DC power systems and handles up to 20 amps of current, providing sufficient capacity for most electric tarp motor configurations. The switch body measures approximately 1.25 inches in length and 0.75 inches in width, fitting standard panel mount openings found in most truck cabs.
The toggle mechanism features a three-position design: center-off with momentary operation in both directions. This prevents the motor from running continuously and reduces wear on your tarp system. Built from durable plastic housing with metal terminals, the switch resists moisture and road debris. The contacts are rated for thousands of cycles, which matters when you're covering and uncovering loads multiple times per day.
This rocker switch works with the electric tarp systems we service most frequently. It's compatible with Aero PowerLock systems, Roll Rite GTX and ST series motors, and Shur-Co 4500HD configurations. The universal 12V design means it can serve as a replacement switch for most electric tarp installations, whether you're running a side-to-side or front-to-back system. We stock this switch specifically because it fits the widest range of applications our customers operate.
Electric tarp systems come in two main configurations. Side-to-side systems, also known as side roll tarps, deploy from one side of the trailer to the other and work well for flatbed applications. This configuration benefits from cab-mounted rocker switches that let drivers control the tarp without leaving their seat, which improves safety and efficiency during loading operations.
The panel mount design makes installation straightforward with basic tools. Wire the switch to your tarp motor according to your system's wiring diagram, and the three-position function prevents accidental activation during transport. Beyond tarp systems, this switch can handle other 12V accessories in your vehicle cab, including auxiliary lighting and equipment that require manual on-off control.
